Training Opportunity: Intellectual Property for grant applications

15 Apr 2021

Want to know more about Intellectual Property for grant applications?

15 April 2021, 16:00-17:00

All research projects will generate Intellectual Property (IP), be that know-how, data, copyrightable materials, reagents, protocols, questionnaires or potentially patentable discoveries etc. Funders are increasingly requesting information about IP either in their funding applications or at the post-award stage.

This 1 hour webinar from Dr. Mike Murray, Royal Society Entrepreneur in Residence, will help demystify IP. The intended outcome from this training is that attendees will be able to:

  • identify and distinguish between Background IP and Foreground IP

  • clarify when material transfer agreements will be needed and how to request these documents.

  • know the support available within the University to assist with more complicated IP questions.

(Please note that this training is open to University of Sheffield staff.)
